Fabric Flowers

I'm still making bunting for my daughter's room. I do a little bit then do something else, then come back to it. I tried to be quite economical when cutting out the bunting, but there was always a bit of left no matter how I cut out the triangles. I decided to turn these scraps into tiny yo-yos that I could attatch to the bunting with buttons. Each yo-yo is about the size of a ten pence piece and is created from a gather circle of fabric.
My daughter saw them and decided that she'd like some of them to be made into hair slides.
I'd also been reading AngelEden's blog and saw a fab tutorial for fabric flowers, also made from circles of fabric. I made a prototype using some stripey cotton and i'm quite pleased with the outcome, although I wanted to put a yellow button in the middle (but couldn't find my box of yellow buttons). I'll probably make this one into a brooch for myself.
